Intel corporation got whacked with a enormous fine ($1.5 billion) by the European Union for non-competitive practices in how it marketed its chips. The accusation focused on rebates that Intel provided to its customers that the EU competition authorities claimed squeezed competitors out for market.
Yesterday, Intel appealed. Outside of claiming the charges are “wrong” and misunderstand the chip market, Intel has not launched any kind of communications program to support the lawsuit.
